A game with no Bayesian approximate equilibria

چکیده
Simon (2003) presented an example of a 3-player Bayesian game with no Bayesian equilibria, leaving open the question of whether or not there are games with no Bayesian approximate equilibria. We present an example of a Bayesian game with two players, two actions and a continuum of states that possesses no Bayesian approximate equilibria, thus resolving the question. As a side benefit we also have for the first time an an example of a 2-player Bayesian game with no Bayesian equilibria and an example of a strategic-form game with no approximate Nash equilibria. To achieve this we show a close relationship between strategic considerations in overlapping generations games and certain Bayesian games and then make use of an example by Y. Levy of an overlapping generations game with no stationary equilibria.

A Bayesian Game without epsilon equilibria
We present a three player Bayesian game for which there is no ǫ-equilibria in Borel measurable strategies for small enough positive ǫ, however there are non-measurable equilibria.
متن کاملNash Equilibria in Perturbation Resilient Games
Motivated by the fact that in many game-theoretic settings, the game analyzed is only an approximation to the game being played, in this work we analyze equilibrium computation for the broad and natural class of bimatrix games that are stable to perturbations. We specifically focus on games with the property that small changes in the payoff matrices do not cause the Nash equilibria of the game ...
متن کاملNo-Regret Learning in Repeated Bayesian Games
Recent price-of-anarchy analyses of games of complete information suggest that coarse correlated equilibria, which characterize outcomes resulting from no-regret learning dynamics, have near-optimal welfare. This work provides two main technical results that lift this conclusion to games of incomplete information, a.k.a., Bayesian games. First, near-optimal welfare in Bayesian games follows dir...

متن کاملBayesian Analysis of Survival Data with Spatial Correlation
Often in practice the data on the mortality of a living unit correlation is due to the location of the observations in the study. One of the most important issues in the analysis of survival data with spatial dependence, is estimation of the parameters and prediction of the unknown values in known sites based on observations vector. In this paper to analyze this type of survival, Cox...
